I popped into Kabobii Restaurant on Ventura Blv for a quick lunch and found the Brazil vs. N. Korea Soccer game streaming on their flat screen. I ordered a Chicken Koobideh Sandwich, posted up on the air conditioner and began picking at the flat bread. Kabobii has a lunch menu with an assortment of kaboobs, stews and salads all pulsing with a traditional middle eastern taste.

The environment is a perfect lunch setting to grab some fresh, healthy food and enjoy a friendly environment. Stop by to get your taste of Kabobii. And be weary of your onion intake, you may be surprised by your new breath.

Open everyday from 11 a.m. to 8p.m. Kabobii 22941 Ventura Blvd

The City of Los Angeles would like to pass the burden of repair of sidewalks in front of a residence to the homeowner. The City’s fiscal crisis is now a personal crisis for each homeowner. As we all try to cope with thedecreasing value to our homes and the inability to refinance our current loans, the City of Los Angeles would like us to add this possible expense to our list of bills we currently cannot afford.

A sidewalk repair can be quite costly, and if a homeowner who is losing their home to foreclosure, short sale or bankruptcy would be in absolutely no position to pay for a repair to their sidewalk! Additionally, if the City gets their way and the homeowner does not repair the sidewalk, a lien can be placed on the property which would create a problem for the sale of the property to the new buyer and current seller and could possibly prevent the sale from closing.

The City of Los Angeles is looking for ways to cut their liability, expenses and overall responsibility to the citizens of our great city. It is up to each homeowner to begin to get involved and see how to get their voices heard.
At least a resolution can be made to ensure that the City participates in a repair if they are making it necessary for the homeowner to make the repair in the first place.

When do homeowners get their bailout?

As I blog today, I realize that some people out there really do not even know what a blog is or are truly not interested in blogging. It is today’s mail. It is a form of social internet communication that lets us reach so many people about a subject that interests us or someone else. It can also be important information that is spread across the globe to help others in a matter of seconds. Even though many of us may not be comfortable with blogging, it is time that we connect with others who may share a common interest, an important health issue or just curious about a certain topic.

I am not that comfortable about blogging, but I want to reach others to share my expertise in real estate, or share important information about real estate today. This is a great tool for me to do that from the comfort of my own home.

Join me and blog about issues that matter to you.

Happy Blogging….

With recent heavy rains due to El Nino, our once brown hills have turned into tall, verdant grasslands. However beautiful our surroundings look today, in just a couple months these hills will be the fuel for the next forest fires. This year is predicted to be a hard year of fires due to the exceedingly high amount of brush in our local mountains.

As daunting as this warning may seem, homeowners can take precautions to prevent the risk of fires effecting their property. First, make sure to create a 30 to 100 foot safety zone around your home. The more space you have, the safer you are. Here are a couple tips:

Anything that’s dead like leaves, twigs, limbs should be cleared immediately.

Remove dead branches that extend over the roof.

Prune tree branches and shrubs within 15 feet of a stovepipe or chimney outlet.

Ask the power company to clear branches from powerlines.

Remove vines from the walls of the home.

Mow grass regularly.

Clear a 10-foot area around propane tanks and the barbecue. Place a screen over the grill – use nonflammable material with mesh no coarser than one-quarter inch.

Stack firewood at least 100 feet away and uphill from your home. Clear combustible material within 20 feet. Use only wood-burning devices evaluated by a nationally recognized laboratory, such as Underwriters Laboratories (UL).
